I was reading this article about the changes in healthcare and it is amazing what technology has gone from. If you was under a doctor's care he can monitor you without you coming into the hospital. Some of the items that I ran across was a blackberry - checking your vitals, wireless pacemaker - can be monitored over the Internet, a SmartShirt - it checks your heart rate, respirator, and body temperature, and a cellphone - with a glucose meter to check your sugar.

Hi Nell, good post. In the next century, we probably won't have doctors just computers that have been programmed to be a diagnostician. We will hook ourselves up to a monitoring system and it will give us our diagnosis!
ReplyDeleteThat would come in handy, especially for those who can't get to the doctor. I agree with Pam they will probably have a print out for your prescription as well so you can just take it straight to the pharmacy. On the other hand I wouldn't want machines operating on me, so I hope there will still be doctors.
