I was interested in what cloud computing was so I did a little research on it. Cloud computing is really just delivering services over the internet. Cloud computing is known as "the cloud," because of the internet. While researching I learned that the services has three different categories: Infrastructure-as-a-Service(IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service(PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service(SaaS). Cloud computing is sold on demand, you can get as a little or alot that you need, and it is managed by the provider. In researching I also learned that the security of cloud computing is still reisky. If you put data over a public cloud you are at a risk for outside threats, that is their biggest hurdle. Most companies prefer using private clouds because you can get hardware, software, and other resources for any demand requirements. I found researching this was interesting, I hope you do too. If you would like to research it for yourself here is a great website to read:

Hi Nell! I enjoyed reading your post. Especially about the three different categories of cloud computing. When I was researching SAS Industries in Cary, I found that they were targeting cloud computing in their lastest innovations. I guess that would be Software-as-a Service or SaaS. I might go back and take a closer look at SAS's web site. Good post!
ReplyDeleteThanks thought it was interesting myself. I need to find some more sites to visit to find more info on it. Know any good sites?
